After searching on You-Tube for how to make free logos on-line, I found a video that demonstrated how to make a unique logo in less than a minute on CoolText.com
Among the dozens of interesting and diverse options, I decided to use one that had a 3-D raised effect with a color gradient across the background. I applied 3 colors from one of my favorite 5-color palettes and this is what I got:
